The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation has opened registration for the ninth edition of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Award, which is one of the world's leading awards dedicated to encouraging specialists and professionals in the field of science and knowledge, and motivating them to be creative and innovative in everything related to developing knowledge pathways, enhancing their transfer, dissemination, and growth worldwide. The Award targets eligible individuals who meet the nomination criteria, whether from within the United Arab Emirates or from abroad, as well as government entities, companies, institutions, associations, bodies, and local, regional, and international organizations that play a vital role in spreading, supporting, and inspiring human knowledge, which contributes significantly to boosting international interest in creativity and innovation, and provides a unique global platform to honor outstanding knowledge achievements that benefit humanity. Jamal bin Huwairib, Secretary General of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Award and CEO of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation, said: "The Award continues its pioneering role in supporting the global knowledge ecosystem, with the opening of nominations for the ninth edition, which has since its inception become a leading platform to honor the elite of creators, thinkers, and knowledge institutions from around the world, in recognition of their qualitative contributions to serving knowledge and enhancing its human impact on peoples." Individuals, government entities, companies, institutions, associations, bodies, and local, regional, and international organizations are eligible to nominate for the Award through the Award's official website (Knowledge Award) before the final deadline of March 31. Self-nomination is not permitted. Priority Fields The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Award honors individuals who have contributed in diverse fields, including knowledge, development, innovation, entrepreneurship, and creativity, as well as developing educational and scientific research institutions, communication technologies, printing, publishing, and paper and electronic documentation. This year's cycle focuses on a number of priority areas, most notably the medical applications of artificial intelligence, sustainability initiatives supporting the global shift away from fossil fuels, and the application of policies and systems specific to the governance of artificial intelligence. The Award also gives special attention to nominations for specialized teams that collaborate across multiple academic disciplines.
