Dubai's Global Village has unveiled a rich program to celebrate the holy month of Ramadan, in line with the renowned destination's commitment to offering a comprehensive experience that honors the values of the blessed month, blending culture, entertainment, and community interaction in a distinctive family atmosphere in Dubai during its 30th season. The destination invites guests to enjoy the Ramadan nights in a more magnificent world, as it welcomes visitors throughout the holy month from 5:00 PM to 1:00 AM from Sunday to Wednesday, and until 2:00 AM from Thursday to Saturday. The Ramadan program includes the Global Village meeting point, which provides a free, open-air seating area designed as a tent inspired by the traditions of Ramadan majlises, and is located opposite the main theater to form a quiet gathering spot that allows visitors to spend time together during iftar and suhoor, enjoying the diverse food from the village's outlets alongside traditional games suitable for all ages. The program includes a set of cultural events and diverse experiences for temporary and permanent restaurants and cafes, and is based on Emirati cultural heritage, enhancing concepts of presence, reflection, and communication through shared experiences that bring families and community members together. The Ramadan Evenings are held from 8:30 PM until midnight until the 20th of the blessed month, when multiple spaces in the museum are lit with experiences inspired by heritage, including live performances, storytelling sessions, selected film screenings, alongside traditional games, poetic riddles, and interactive workshops led by Emirati youth. The performances include: Shadow Theater: When the Moon Appears, Grandfather's Majlis, storytelling experiences inspired by the Blue Quran, alongside activities such as moon-sighting and star-gazing in Al Masar Garden, and other events that meet the aspirations of all age groups. Zayed National Museum's program during the holy month includes the 'Stories and Tales Across Generations' event, storytelling sessions presented by senior citizens who share Ramadan stories that highlight faith, generosity, solidarity, customs, and traditions. Along with the 'Shadows and Light: Lantern Making' workshop inspired by the shadows and lights that appear on the museum's interior walls, which allows participants to make lanterns in their own style. Families embark on a tour of the museum with staff to see the geometric shapes in its halls and focus on the patterns of shadows on the walls, then head to the workshop to draw geometric patterns on the lantern models they will make. A museum specialist will talk about the importance of lanterns in Emirati and Islamic traditions within this program, which aims to create a bond between visitors and the holy month of Ramadan. 'Welcome to Abu Dhabi' is organizing the first edition of the 'Laylaty Ramadan' festival, starting February 20, in the city of Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and Al Dhafra, welcoming families and friends to explore the spirit of community togetherness in the blessed month through a packed program of cultural and entertainment events, and family activities, daily from 8:00 PM to 2:00 AM.
