Andrew Yapp, the founder and CEO of 'Big Bad Wolf Box', expressed satisfaction with the exceptional event, which achieved the highest participation in the fair's history. He highlighted the fair's focus on reading as a tool for enhancing focus, learning, and personal growth in an increasingly distracting world. Yapp added: 'The impact of the event isn't just its scale, but it also underscores the pivotal role of books in fostering creativity, encouraging expression, and building sustainable reading habits.' He continued, 'Reading is the starting point of ideas, but what's more important is what individuals choose to do with these ideas, which is why initiatives like 'Stage Write' were included to encourage participants to create, express, and share their voices.' Families showed a notable interest in interactive children's books and activity books, reflecting a growing awareness of the importance of instilling reading habits at a young age and reducing screen time. When a story moves from the pages of a book to a live stage performance, it embodies the power of reading as a true catalyst for creativity and impact on reality. Yapp noted: 'This year's visitors showed a clear trend towards both early learning and recreational reading. Meanwhile, novels and young adult books were also in high demand, especially among teenagers and young professionals who showed a growing preference for contemporary and bestselling titles.' He added: 'Overall, the diversity of titles on display encouraged readers to explore different literary genres and fields, with many visitors eager to discover new books and build their personal libraries rather than sticking to pre-made shopping lists.' Organizers of 'Big Bad Wolf' confirmed they will continue to excel through their model of making reading accessible to all. With prices starting from just two dirhams and discounts of up to 95%, this approach aims to remove physical barriers to reading, encourage families to establish sustainable home libraries, and promote a culture of reading. This year's edition, running from February 26 to March 15 under the theme 'Beyond the Noise', embodied a large-scale initiative aimed at making reading easier, more appealing, and culturally relevant to all segments of society in Dubai and beyond.
