Exhibition of Emirati Artist Abdul Rahim Salem

The Sultan Bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Foundation will hold an art exhibition for pioneering Emirati artist Abdul Rahim Salem in Dubai on November 5. The event will also see the launch of a new book about his creative journey.

The Sultan bin Ali Al Owais Museum in Dubai is organizing an exhibition of the artist Abdulrahim Salem on Tuesday, November 5. The exhibition will take place in the museum's exhibition hall on Raka Street. Within the framework of the exhibition, the book "Legends of Abstraction" by critic and journalist Abira Younes will be presented. The book is part of the series "Leaders from the UAE" and illuminates the creative path of the artist, who is one of the leading representatives of Emirati painting. Abdulrahim Salem was born in Dubai in 1955 and was one of the founders of the Emirates Fine Arts Society. He held the positions of president and vice-president of the Society for many years. His works have participated in more than 60 international and national exhibitions. He also received various awards at exhibitions. The artist has received numerous awards both within the country and abroad, and his works are housed in museums and private collections. Among the artist's awards are the jury award of the Cairo Biennale in 1992, the first award at the Sharjah Biennale in 1993, the honorary state award in the field of visual arts of the UAE in 2008, and an award for contribution to the field of art in Kuwait in 2018.
