This weekend, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai has extended the operating hours of the Dubai Metro. Specifically, on Saturday, November 16, the Metro started running from 5:00 AM and will operate until 2:00 AM the following day, November 17. The decision to extend the Metro's hours is aimed at accommodating passengers who will be attending the Festival of Lights, 'Diwali.'
The Festival of Lights, or 'Diwali,' is a significant event celebrated primarily by the Indian community. Festivities for Diwali will take place at Zabeel Park and are anticipated to attract around 40,000 visitors. The event is scheduled to commence at 11:00 AM on November 16 and last until midnight on November 17. To cater to the increased demand during this festive period, the RTA has decided to extend the operating hours of the Dubai Metro.
In an official statement, the RTA expressed their commitment to providing a seamless transportation experience for attendees of the Diwali event. The extended Metro services from 5:00 AM on November 16 to 2:00 AM on November 17 are part of the RTA's efforts to ensure smooth travel for passengers to and from the celebrations. The initiative aims to enhance passenger convenience and offer a reliable mode of transportation during this festive occasion.
