Since the beginning of the crisis 15 months ago, the Dubai Humanitarian Operation has ensured the delivery of over 1,068 tons of humanitarian aid to the Gaza sector on board 23 aircraft and 1 maritime charter, transporting humanitarian assistance from warehouses of WHO, UNICEF, UKB On, and the World Food Program, which are located in the Dubai Humanitarian Operation - the largest humanitarian hub in the world.

Robert Blanchard, Director of the WHO Operations Center for Logistics for Global Emergency Situations, noted: "WHO is grateful for our partnership with the Dubai Humanitarian Operation and the unwavering support of the Dubai and UAE governments. As a unique hub, WHO's logistics for global emergencies based here in the UAE has delivered over $200 million of emergency medical supplies to more than 140 countries since 2018, which is vital for the health protection of millions of people in need around the world."

The first aircraft took off this morning and delivered 67.9 tons of primary medical assistance from WHO warehouses to the Dubai Humanitarian Operation. The aircraft, operated with the assistance of Dubai’s Air Wing, supports the ongoing humanitarian effort in cooperation with the World Health Organization.

Guiseppe Saba, General Director and Member of the Board of the Dubai Humanitarian Operation, said: "We remain committed to our obligation to support the people of Gaza during this difficult time. Following the indications of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, we sent medical supplies and mobile hospitals to address the urgent needs in health care on the ground. Today, our focus is concentrated on responding to unprecedented needs in Gaza, where medical facilities have been destroyed, medical workers have been killed, and there is a severe shortage of essential medicines. This airlift, sponsored by the UAE and transporting 68 metric tons of medicines, will support 95,000 people over the course of three months," added Blanchard.

Yes, we anticipate a 30% increase in demand as more people require humanitarian assistance.
