The National Meteorology Center (NCM) has issued a weather warning for the upcoming week-end, as the country is preparing for the impact of two consecutive low-pressure systems, which will bring rain, strong winds, and noticeable temperature drops. From the first to the second day of the weekend, the upper low pressure system will spread over the OAA, resulting in weak or moderate precipitation in certain northern and eastern regions, as well as subsequent temperature drops in different areas.
From Tuesday to Monday, a deeper low pressure, accompanied by cold air mass, will further intensify the weather conditions, leading to temporarily heavy rain in the north and east of the country, weak or moderate showers along the coasts, and significant temperature drops. In mountainous areas, temperatures may drop enough to allow water to freeze overnight, with the possibility of minor frost in limited areas.
Winds will be weak to moderate from the northeast to the northwest, but may sometimes strengthen, causing dust and sand, which can lead to reduced visibility on land. At sea, stormy conditions are expected in the Arabian Gulf, while in the Oman Sea, mainly moderate conditions are anticipated, although they may sometimes worsen due to the presence of clouds.
NCM recommends residents to follow the official forecasts, exercise caution while traveling, and avoid unnecessary outings due to potentially dangerous conditions.
