As noted, the proposed reduction is aimed at ensuring more effective resource utilization and focusing on the most important priorities of the organization. It is assumed that this decision will help solve financial problems that the World Health Organization has encountered.
However, this proposal has elicited concern and criticism from some member states, which believe that the budget cuts may negatively affect the organization's work and its ability to provide assistance in critically important areas, especially in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.
So far, no official decision on this issue has been made, but it remains one of the key questions on the agenda of the upcoming meeting of the World Health Organization.
