Dubai Unveils First Wellbeing Resort at Zabeel Park

Dubai is set to welcome the first-of-its-kind wellbeing resort and interactive garden in Zabeel Park, developed in partnership with global wellness leader Therme Group. The project, named 'Therme Dubai', is aligned with the UAE's 'Year of the Community' initiative, aiming to elevate the quality of life and well-being of the community while enhancing Dubai's global competitiveness.

The project, spanning 500,000 square feet within a 100-meter-tall structure, is designed to attract 1.7 million visitors annually. 'Therme Dubai' will feature three dedicated zones - restoration, relaxation, and playing - within the resort building, seamlessly integrating nature and water into Dubai's urban landscape.

One of the highlights of the project will be the world's largest indoor botanical garden, showcasing over 200 plant species. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's directive to enhance the quality of life in Dubai and reinforce its position as a premier city led to the approval of the iconic 'Therme Dubai' project by his son, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

The project aims to establish Dubai as a leading global wellness tourism destination by offering an array of health-focused services and promoting a lifestyle centered on holistic well-being. With a model spanning 500,000 square feet and designed to host up to 1.7 million visitors annually, 'Therme Dubai' emphasizes accessible healthy lifestyles and sustainable urban development integrated with nature and water elements.

The project aligns with the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan's objectives to create vibrant, healthy communities and foster Dubai's global competitiveness by attracting international companies and investments. By integrating wellness, healthcare, and recreational facilities, 'Therme Dubai' is poised to enhance Dubai's medical tourism sector while promoting physical, social, and mental health among residents and visitors.

Designed by the acclaimed architectural firm DS+R, 'Therme Dubai' will offer a range of amenities including natural therapeutic zones, thermal pools, saunas, and a Michelin-star restaurant. The resort will also house multiple water environments, family-friendly entertainment areas, and art installations to enrich the visitor experience within a sustainable and technologically advanced building design.

With an estimated cost of AED2 billion, 'Therme Dubai' is anticipated to be completed by 2028 with funding from a consortium of local and international partners. The project embodies a vision of promoting well-being for all, fostering urban wellness, and providing inclusive experiences for millions of visitors annually, contributing to Dubai's transformation into a global wellness destination.
