Recently, one of the emergency room doctors shared information about "one of the most shocking radiographic images he has ever seen," where the lower part of a person's body was infested with hundreds of flesh-eating parasites. These parasites typically attach in the intestines of their host and consume nutrients directly from the intestine. Few know that flesh-eating parasites can move throughout the entire organism, from the gut to the brain.
Over time, these parasites calcify, cease to be viable, thus not posing much of a threat when nestled in soft tissues, such as muscles or fatty tissue. However, they can cause life-threatening conditions, known as necrotizing, when parasites calcify in the brain.
The doctor noted that this radiographic image turned out to be taken from a patient who complained of severe pain in the leg, caused by a bone infection unrelated to the parasites. He emphasized that the presence of calcified parasites in the brain could potentially lead to serious problems, ending in fatal outcomes.
The doctor advised avoiding this possibility by staying away from pork and raw or undercooked fish, to remain on the safe side.
