Al Jalila Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Dubai Health, announced a significant AED50 million donation from the Eissa Abdullah Abdullaziz Al Othman Endowment in Kuwait. The donation is designated to support the construction and development of the Hamdan Bin Rashid Cancer Hospital, which is set to become Dubai’s first fully integrated and comprehensive cancer facility.

At a formal signing ceremony held at Al Jalila Foundation, the CEO of the Foundation, Dr. Amer Al Zarooni, welcomed the endowment trustees - Yousef Eissa Al Othman, Nabil Eissa Al Othman, and Abdulla Eissa Al Othman. They were briefed on the milestone project and the substantial impact their donation would have in advancing healthcare services.

Dr. Amer Al Zarooni expressed his gratitude for the generous contribution, emphasizing the essential role it plays in supporting humanitarian causes and medical initiatives. The donation is expected to bring hope and comfort to cancer patients and their families during challenging times, ultimately transforming lives for the better.

In recognition of this generous support, the hospital’s intensive care unit will be named after the donors from Kuwait. Faisal Eissa Al Othman, representing the Endowment, expressed pride in collaborating with Al Jalila Foundation on this vital healthcare project, honoring the legacy of the late Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

The generous donation symbolizes a deep commitment to philanthropy and healthcare advancement, echoing the values of compassion and solidarity ingrained in society. The hospital, which will fall under Dubai Health, is planned to span an extensive 56,000 square meters, providing comprehensive cancer care services under one roof.

The Hamdan Bin Rashid Cancer Hospital aims to serve approximately 30,000 patients annually, offering specialized care and support to cancer patients.
