Experts in the field of information security warn about harmful practices that threaten the confidentiality of individuals as well as companies when connecting to the internet. They stressed the necessity to adopt basic measures to avoid risks associated with cybercrime.
One of these experts, Maher Yamout from Kaspersky, noted that the use of artificial intelligence increases the risk of breaches of user confidentiality. He also pointed out that applications, such as social networks, e-commerce, and fitness applications, pose a greater threat to user confidentiality because they collect and exchange large volumes of personal data. Yamout urged users to be attentive in reviewing application permissions, disabling unnecessary permissions, using confidentiality tools, and avoiding anonymous payment methods.
It was also emphasized that it is important to activate the "Do Not Track" function on devices and in different applications, using secure solutions with the "Do Not Track" function for more effective protection. Avoiding public unsecured networks also contributes to increasing data confidentiality since they can pose a risk to information. It is also important to regularly check application settings and remove unused applications.
One of the speakers who raised awareness was Asif Suleiman from CNS in the Middle East, who noted that cyberattacks are becoming increasingly complex in the context of widespread use of digital systems for storing and managing sensitive information. He highlighted the importance of secure passwords, the activation of two-factor authentication, and the protection of account records.
All experts agreed that in the context of constant cyberattacks, it is necessary to raise awareness of the importance of maintaining data confidentiality and the use of relevant technological solutions for their protection.
