In the past year, MBRGI, the largest humanitarian organization of its kind in the region, has spent a total of 2.2 billion dirhams on projects, positively impacting the lives of 149 million people in 118 countries around the world. The announcement about the annual review of MBRGI took place during a special ceremony held today at the Dubai World Trade Center, which was attended by H.H. The main projects included the launch of the '1B Tower,' a building with a total public fund of 800 million dirhams in support of the 1-billion dirham Feed the Hungry Fund and the 20th anniversary of the Dubai Humanitarian Center (formerly the International Humanitarian Forum), leveraging a distribution of 1,255 metric tons of aid for 3.7 million beneficiaries. Al Gergawi stated: 'In 2024, MBRGI reached a record of 149 million people in 118 countries through projects and programs amounting to more than 2.2 billion dirhams, which marks an increase of 400 million dirhams compared to 2023.'

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum was present at the ceremony alongside several ministers and officials. The ceremony highlighted MBRGI’s achievements in 2024 and upcoming years, presenting updates on the 'Fathers’ Fund' campaign of this year and noting its partners and main sponsors. The ceremony preceded a meeting of the Advisory Council of MBRGI at the Dubai World Trade Center, chaired by H.H. Al Gergawi particularly emphasized the launch campaign of the 20th anniversary of Muhammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's leadership gathering over 850 emirati leaders from various sectors from the leadership training center programs.

In his turn at the ceremony, Gergawi noted: 'MBRGI will continue its mission of fostering a sense of hope through sustainable and developing projects and programs.' In 2024, MBRGI invested more than 599 million dirhams in education, benefiting more than 100 million people worldwide. A key initiative of 2024 became the launch of the 'Mothers’ Fund' campaign.

Additionally, MBRGI distributed more than 38.5 million dirhams (compared to 25.1 million in 2023) for the support and recognition of achievements in humanitarian and development work. Other significant achievements under this banner include the Initiative for Global Food Innovation Summit, organized in partnership with the Global Economic Forum, focusing on innovative food systems and attracting global investments in agriculture and food technologies.

MBRGI also concentrated on establishing Dubai and the UAE as a global center for innovations and technologies. During the ceremony, four individuals were awarded one million dirhams each for their positive contributions to society.

The organization continues to expand the circle of assistance for those most in need, fighting against poverty, hunger, and neglect, not only in its region but around the world, instilling hope for a better future in Arab societies, added Hamdan.
