The Emirates Insurance Association will hold its 9th Annual Health Insurance Conference on November 26-27, 2025, at the Millennium Plaza Downtown Dubai hotel. The conference will bring together over 200 distinguished experts and decision-makers in the health insurance sector. This year, the conference will discuss and analyze many important topics, foremost among them being the current state of health insurance in the UAE, the role of artificial intelligence in risk management and fraud prevention, and the digital transformation and blockchain technology in claims and analytics. The event will also explore the future of healthcare delivery and the shift towards decentralized care, including telemedicine and home healthcare, as well as strategies for containing health insurance costs and cybersecurity's role in protecting the financial data of the health insurance system. Khalid Mohammed Al-Badi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Insurance Association, stated that the conference this year is of great importance given the positive indicators of steady growth for the UAE's health insurance sector in the coming years, especially after the launch of new mandatory health insurance regulations that now cover all emirates. The steady increase in population, rising aging rates, and the growing prevalence of health insurance, along with the boom in medical tourism driven by high economic growth rates and a focus on economic diversification, are all factors leading to an increased demand for healthcare services. Forecasts indicate that healthcare spending in the country (according to reports from specialized institutions) is expected to record a compound annual growth rate of 6.7%, reaching 150.8 billion dirhams (41.1 billion dollars) by 2029. Al-Badi added that the new edition of the conference this year provides a platform to launch new ideas and formulate insurance solutions capable of addressing future challenges in the sector, particularly in keeping pace with the rapid developments in global health insurance innovations, designing new and innovative products, offering sustainable products, investing in digital transformation, and integrating health technology with insurance, as well as expanding the use of artificial intelligence to improve claims management, simplify operations, provide customized insurance solutions for corporations, and enhance the customer experience through digital platforms.
