The lecture also covered the primary methods for executing social engineering attacks, noting that attackers focus on developing their tools and devising new methods. It addressed the negative impacts of social engineering, including financial losses, reputational damage, and operational disruptions, which adversely affect business continuity and service quality. Furthermore, the lecture highlighted indicators for detecting phishing attempts, such as linguistic errors, suspicious email addresses, and requests for information made under pressure. It also provided practical guidance for enhancing email security and preventing these types of attacks.
