According to a representative of WHO, the new variant of the virus poses a serious threat due to its rapid transmission. According to the latest data, Omicron has already been detected in more than 77 countries, which increases the risk of new outbreaks of infection.
"We are alarmed by the pace at which this variant is spreading," said the WHO representative. The main task now is to prevent further spread of the virus, for which it is essential to urgently adopt effective control measures and carry out mass vaccination.
