
The UAE Food Bank, with the support of initiatives and volunteers, has made a significant impact, enabling the Bank to achieve its charitable goals of providing food assistance to its beneficiaries.
The Bank conducted 150 informational events, involving 3,437 community members and workers in food processing efforts to assist in more effective food storage and reducing waste.
In the first nine months of the year, the UAE Food Bank distributed 166.7 tons of products, equivalent to 416,750 food servings for recipients. Initiatives reached over 24.5 million individuals both within the country and beyond its borders.
The Bank diverted more than 9 million food servings, preventing the loss of 3,700 tons of products. The activities of the Bank contribute to environmental, social, and economic sustainability through effective management of surplus products and their redistribution among recipients both locally and globally, as well as recycling inedible products for composting in collaboration with private partners.
Collaboration with the Nimah initiative, called "Scrap Food Loss", achieved a 47% reduction in food waste in hotels participating in the program from 2022 to 2024. Furthermore, 18 new partnership agreements were signed to strengthen strategic partnerships supporting the Bank's mission.
During Ramadan, the UAE Food Bank distributed 7,322,694 food servings as part of the initiative "5 Million Food Servings", including programs like "Food Baskets", "Your Supper with Us", the program "1,000 Packages", and iftar for 5,500 workers in the Zabeel Park in Dubai.
In extreme weather conditions caused by the depression "Al Hadeer", which brought unprecedented rains, the UAE Food Bank provided 114,910 meals to those affected, demonstrating its readiness and obligation to offer assistance to the community during extraordinary situations.
The Bank operates on principles of humanitarianism, philanthropy, sustainable development, and social responsibility, with long-term plans to support those in need worldwide.
As part of the UAE Food Bank initiatives, more than 24.5 million food servings were distributed in the first nine months of 2024, representing a 93% increase compared to the previous year. 150 informational programs and 18 partnership agreements have strengthened the Bank's activities and expanded its contacts.
At the suggestion of His Highness Sheikh Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, the Supreme Chairperson of the UAE Food Bank, and Her Highness Sheikhah Mohmmeda bint Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, UAE Food Bank held its annual ceremony to honor strategic partners, sponsors, and volunteers.
Through the No Waste Ramadan initiative, hotels worldwide hosted educational programs and activities to raise awareness among 400 employees, contributing to social responsibility and reducing food waste. Within this initiative, 300 containers were set up for sorting food waste in hotel kitchens, which helped avoid the disposal of 401,266 kg of food products in landfills. The Bank's operations have supported 925 strategic partners and donors, including nonprofit organizations, hotels, and companies, as well as more than 5,000 volunteers.
