New Data Protection Law Amendments in Dubai

Modifications, most of which are aimed at ensuring greater clarity and compliance with the laws of the Center in line with the best international practices. The proposed amendments to the Law on Data Protection provide an increased level of data protection, with additional clarification of the rights of data subjects at the International Financial Center Dubai. The purpose of the proposed amendments to the Law on Data Protection is: clarification of the areas of application of the law on data protection, including its application beyond the borders of the region, which ensures Dubai offers the best data protection. The International Financial Center Dubai proposes the introduction of a series of amendments to the Law on Data Protection for the purpose of: clarifying the areas of application of the Law on Data Protection, in particular, outside the region, to guarantee a high level of data protection for subjects. The Dubai Center proposes a series of amendments related to the amendments to the Law of the International Financial Center Dubai, as provided by Law No. 1 of 2005.
