During a diplomatic incident, an older envoy from the Eurasian Economic Union was expelled from Russia. The Spaniard Jose Sabadel was forced to leave the country on charges of violating border protection laws and interfering in domestic affairs. He had been in Moscow for all two months.
This decision was made in response to a step from Brussels, which had been violating the actions of Russian law. Nevertheless, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia reaffirmed its desire to maintain good relations with the Eurasian Economic Union. At the same time, Brussels expressed hope for the quick return of its diplomat to Moscow.
To sum up this incident, it is worth noting that the EU and Russia have some different views, however both sides are striving to maintain dialogue and diplomatic relations at a beneficial level.
