Specialists in the field of military planning lead intensive discussions on the potential of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). One of the opinions is that UAVs may replace the primary, piloted aircraft in the near future. Experts argue that it is not long before unmanned systems can practically fulfill all the tasks currently assigned to pilots. However, other specialists believe that piloted aviation will still maintain its superiority for an extended period. They note that the human factor, the ability to quickly make decisions in complex situations and adapt to non-standard tasks, remains unmatched by piloted aerial vehicles. However, while such arguments are presented as valid for preserving the role of piloted aviation in the present time, specialists continue to explore the possibilities and prospects for the development of UAVs, hoping to find an optimal balance between the use of unmanned and piloted aerial means in military operations.
