The National Media Authority (NMO) reminded users of social networks in the UAE about the need to respect national values and adhere to ethical standards when posting content online. In an official statement, the National Media Authority prohibited the dissemination in social networks of content that offends national symbols, public figures, or friendly countries. It also warns against the spread of false information, hate speech, or insults.

Users are urged to use digital platforms responsibly, respecting the laws of the country, promoting tolerance and coexistence. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan previously reminded citizens of their responsibility towards the positive representation of the UAE.

"We all bear responsibility for shaping the reputation of this country, as each of us represents its honor and status," he said. Residents are also called upon to follow ethical standards, established guidelines of the UAE, which value moderation and high moral behavior. The office also endorsed the recommendations of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, on conducting online interactions that reflect wisdom, respect, and constructive engagement. NMO urged individuals to report offensive content through official channels.

"Every action, whether positive or negative, reflects your Emirati identifier." Regardless of whether it is done indirectly or directly, such actions are in violation of the law. NMO emphasized that authorities will take legal action against individuals who violate these directives. The UAE is striving to maintain a balanced digital environment that fosters mutual respect among people and communities.
