Dubai authorities confirmed tonight that a drone was intercepted and its shrapnel caused a limited fire on the exterior facade of the iconic Burj Al Arab hotel in the United Arab Emirates, the world's only seven-star hotel. Dubai Media Office reported that civil defense teams managed to control the incident without any injuries reported, according to Noticias Argentinas agency. The Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest building and one of Dubai's most recognized symbols, was evacuated after explosions were heard throughout the city. The attack took place as part of an Iranian missile offensive against U.S. military positions in the Gulf, in retaliation for the joint U.S. and Israel airstrikes on Tehran. Earlier on Saturday, Dubai's international airport was also affected by the Iranian missile attacks amid the military conflict with the U.S. and Israel. According to Noticias Argentinas agency, the impacts hit Terminals 1 and 3, including the departure halls. This occurred as a result of the airstrikes launched by Iran in response to the joint military actions between the U.S. and Israel. The airport of the city located in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) announced that all flights are suspended, both at this airport and at Dubai World Central Al Maktoum in Jebel Ali.
