UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk announced on Friday that 56 civilians, including 24 children, have been killed. According to him, the tragedy occurred as a result of recent hostilities. The High Commissioner expressed deep regret over the incident and called on all parties to the conflict to comply with international humanitarian law. He emphasized the need to protect the civilian population and ensure access for humanitarian missions to the affected areas. "We cannot allow such tragedies to happen again," Turk stated.
