The defendants published videos featuring real footage of air defense systems intercepting attacks, as well as fabricated content created using artificial intelligence. According to authorities, these materials were intended to mislead the public, spread fear, and undermine social stability. Specifically, the videos falsely depicted explosions, strikes on prominent landmarks, or large fires. Emotional footage involving children was also used to create a false impression of security threats. UAE Attorney-General Dr. Hamad Saif Al Shamsi stated that such acts constitute a crime punishable by imprisonment for no less than one year and a fine of no less than AED 100,000. He emphasized that authorities will not tolerate attempts to exploit cyberspace to spread misleading information and that all those involved will face immediate criminal accountability.
