The EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, stated on Wednesday that uncertainty still looms over the Middle East, although the two-week ceasefire between the United States and Iran provides some relief. She added that the current crisis has shown the need for 'a stronger partnership between the European Union and Gulf countries, including cooperation in security and defense'. This followed her meeting in Riyadh with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jasim Al-Budaiwi.
