
The Dubai Police have recently announced the launch of various strategic projects valued at AED2 billion to enhance the city's security infrastructure and improve the well-being of police personnel. The announcement was made by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, during his visit to the Dubai Police Officers Club in Al Jaddaf.
One of the key projects includes the construction of a new Dubai Police Academy in the Al Ruwayyah 1 area, spanning 155 hectares and accommodating 2,500 cadets and students. The academy will be divided into four main zones, including residential areas, academic facilities, sports complexes, and main fields, with a budget of AED1 billion set for completion by 2027.
Additionally, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum reviewed the new training center at the Dubai Police Academy in Hatta, scheduled to open next year. Another significant initiative is the world's first Floating Smart Police Station (SPS) set to be launched at The World Islands, providing advanced security services.
The projects also encompass the expansion of the Bur Dubai Police Station, a new building for the General Department of Organisation Protective Security and Emergency, and a Forensic Medicine Building. These endeavors aim to bolster security, invest in police training, and enhance employee well-being through housing projects promoting family stability.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum emphasized Dubai's reputation as a safe city and a beacon of security services excellence achieved through innovative technologies. Lt. Gen. Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, expressed gratitude for the support received and highlighted the force's commitment to setting new standards of policing excellence continuously.
The projects also involve the development of the Dubai Police Housing project in Umm Al Daman, including residential buildings, green spaces, and amenities to support police personnel and their families, scheduled for completion by 2026. Furthermore, initiatives like the Area 56 project aim to enhance digital integration, utilize AI technology for predictive policing, and bolster security measures with a budget of AED300 million.
Lastly, the Dubai Police will introduce a Floating SPS 'Smart Police Station' at The World Islands, offering services to maritime enthusiasts 24/7 without human intervention. The series of projects underscore Dubai's commitment to advanced security, policing excellence, and the well-being of its police force.
