
The major tennis tournament in Dubai's free zone celebrates its 25th anniversary, featuring the top ten female tennis players in the world as part of the 1000 category events. The tournament will take place from February 16 to 22, and fans are eagerly awaiting an intense showdown between the leading players.
Among the participants of the tournament is the Belarusian tennis player Arina Sobolenko, who is returning to Dubai for the ninth time after winning titles at the Australian Open and US Open in 2024.
Also participating in the tournament is World No. 2, Poland's Iga Swiatek, a four-time Grand Slam champion. Both athletes aim for victory in Dubai.
The list of participants also includes American Madison Keys, currently ranked sixth, who defeated Swiatek in the semifinals and Sobolenko in the final of the Australian Open, returning to the top 10.
In the tournament, American Coco Gauff, ranked fourth in the world and making her fourth appearance, as well as Jessica Pegula and Emma Navarro, ranked sixth and ninth respectively.
Italy will be represented by Jasmine Paolini, the world No. 26, defending her title after winning her first 1000 category title this season and reaching the finals of Roland Garros and Wimbledon, as well as winning a gold medal in the doubles event at the Olympic Games in Paris.
Kazakhstan's Elena Rybakina, ranked fifth in the world and the 2022 Wimbledon champion, and China's Zhang Shuai, the world No. 8 and gold medalist in Paris, are both aiming for success in the tournament. Additionally, Spain's Paula Badosa, ranked tenth in the world, hopes to advance past the first round in Dubai after last month's Australian Open semifinal.
