Madarfin al-Vasl Colombia Alexis Peres confirmed that his team is capable of winning today’s match against Al-Hilal in the Asian Champions League, despite their low position in the Al-Adnok tournament this season.
"I know that al-Vasl has not shown the required level in the championship, but this does not mean that they are not able to achieve a good result against Al-Hilal or in other tournaments where our team competes. The team must believe in their ability to achieve victories and the possibility of maintaining success among the best teams in Asia," he told the newspaper "Emirates Today".
"We are playing a tough match against a strong team, one of the most powerful in Asia, but we will be fighting for victory, especially considering that we have achieved positive results in the Asian tournament so far."
In response to a question about the reasons for al-Vasl's failures this season and their elimination from the competition, he said: "It's hard to explain what happened. At the beginning of the season, we played well and showed good matches. However, we lost many points, but what happened in the past remains with us."
