
In the framework of the twelfth sports event "Dubai Run on Al Shiba", the Marakkan distance runners dominated in the 5 and 10 kilometer races. More than 4300 participants of all ages and nationalities took part in the competitions held on the Meydan track. This is the largest event of its kind, organized by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai.
The event takes place annually during the month of Ramadan at the Nad Al Shiba sports complex, under the slogan "Infinite Possibilities". The running competitions were attended by the General Secretary of the Dubai Sports Council Saeed Hareb, who started the men's 5-kilometer race. There were also starters for other distances, and representatives of other sports organizations were present.
Marakkan runner Yasir Shashi won the 10-kilometer race, completing the distance in 27 minutes and 21 seconds. His compatriots Muhammad Ayt Mamas Tuda and Ismail Khirshi finished in second and third places, respectively. There was also a series of races among local sportsmen and sportswomen, as well as participants in an open category, where Marakkan athletes and other representatives also triumphed.
