The UAE national football team is in full training in Dubai as they prepare for World Cup qualifiers against Iran and North Korea. Key players join after club commitments.


Emirates National Football Team Training Intensifies in Dubai

Today, the national team OAE is gathering for football, located at the internal gathering in the Al Jebel Ali area in Dubai, will conduct a training session in full composition after the joining of players from youth teams Al-Ahli, Sharjah and Nasr to the national team after finishing their participation in external competitions.

The current gathering of the national team is being held as part of the preparation for matches against Iran and North Korea, scheduled for the 20th and 25th of this month, respectively. The national team will play against the Iranian team at the Azadi stadium in Tehran and will play against North Korea at the Prince Faisal stadium in the capital of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh.

Today, joining the training session are Hamd Makbaradi, Harib Abdallakh, and Yahya al-Gassani (Al-Ahli), as well as players from Sharjah and Nasr. These players have previously missed the national team gathering due to participation in tournaments with clubs in Asian and Arab tournaments.

The OAE national team has started weekly trainings on Sundays with 14 players participating. The team is in third place in Group A in the qualifying tournament for the 2026 World Cup, behind Iran and Uzbekistan.

Recently called up to the national team, Sharjah player Kayo Lukas expressed joy about the opportunity to represent OAE: "I am happy to be part of the OAE team, I will do my best to contribute. I appreciate the trust of coach Paulo Bento and thank him for the opportunity to play for OAE."

The youth national team OAE continues training in its current gathering in Dubai, preparing to participate in the West Asian tournament, which will take place in Oman from the 19th to the 25th of this month.
