The national basketball team continued its winning streak at the Dubai International Tournament by defeating the Syrian club 'Al-Wahda' 107-94 on Wednesday. This victory secured the team first place in Group A with 8 points. In another match of the same group, 'Al-Nasr' defeated the Syrian 'Homs Al-Fidaa' 101-100, securing the last spot in the quarterfinals. With this win, the national team confirmed its right to lead Group A with a two-point lead over Syrian 'Al-Wahda' and Libyan 'Al-Ittihad', who shared second place. Despite 'Al-Nasr' and 'Homs Al-Fidaa' having the same number of points, 'Al-Nasr' advanced to the next stage thanks to the results of their head-to-head encounters. 'Homs Al-Fidaa', however, concluded its group stage campaign. In terms of performance, the national team's players dominated the match, securing a convincing victory and surpassing the 100-point mark. They held a clear advantage after the first, second, and fourth quarters (32-25, 26-19, and 29-22 respectively). Players from 'Al-Wahda' managed to win only the third quarter (28-20). It is worth noting that the tournament format provides direct qualification to the quarterfinals, which begins tomorrow, for the teams that finish in the top four of each group.
