Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, confirmed that the Nad al-Sheba Sports Tournament, launched and covered by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, as the acting premier-minister, minister of youth and chairman of the Emirate’s Sports Council, has reached significant development and success both at the level of competitive sports, as well as at the level of community sports in the country over the course of 12 successful rounds of competitions in various sports with the participation of stars of international professional sports, as well as enthusiasts from different categories.

Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum expressed his admiration for the great success of the Nad al-Sheba Sports Tournament and the high level of competitions, which affirms its status among the top sports events in Dubai, being a major and significant sports event during the holy month, highlighting that the organization of such tournaments in Dubai reflects the status of the emirate as a leading sports destination and contributes to the development and growth of the sports industry in the emirate, the development of sports talents and motivating youth towards a healthy lifestyle and sports.

This was mentioned in the course of the Sheikh’s presence at the competitions of the 12th edition of the tournament, including matches in badminton and volleyball, at the Nad al-Sheba stadium, as well as on the second day of the velodrome on Midan street along with Sheikh Said bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, chairman of the Tennis Federation of UAE, replacing the chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, Khalfan Belhoul, general secretary of the Dubai Sports Council, Saeed Harib, the first vice president of the Asian Union and the second vice president of the Tennis Federation of UAE, member of the Dubai Sports Council Ismail Hashimi, assistant to the general secretary of the Dubai Sports Council Nasir Al Rahmo, and director of the tournament Hassan Al Mazrouei.

Sheikh, chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, noted: "The Nad al-Sheba Tournament presented remarkable new sports types, as well as witnessed the organization of competitions at the international level and the attraction of national and international sports stars from various disciplines, which contributed to raising the level of our athletes through interaction and competition with elite global sportsmen, as well as contributing to the spread of these sports among our community and reinforcing participation of various members of the community in different sports competitions, which led to an increase in the number of participants over the years to more than 8000 athletes and sportsmen professionals and enthusiasts from different nationalities."

The meeting of the Sheikh with participants included amateur athletes who participated in the velodrome, and he noted their perseverance, love for sports and striving for competition in this tournament, stressing that "the Nad al-Sheba Tournament, since its inception, provides all the support and effort for amateur athletes with limited opportunities and works towards conducting special competitions for them, as well as their participation in various sports competitions."

The badminton championship gathered teams from other countries alongside our team, as well as championships of the International Federation of Youth and other regular competitions over a span of 20 days, where in the volleyball competitions foreign club teams compete with our local teams, including the team "Fujairah Beach" from Shakhtor Suligorsk, champion of Belarus, "Hilal" from the Grotazzolina team from Italy and "Al-Ahli" from the Padova team from Italy, as well as teams "Tidavi 1" from Dynamo team from Russia and "Tidavi 2" from Nova team from Russia.
