Angry Liverpool fans, upset about their academy player leaving for free after he refused to extend his contract, changed the phrase from "I'm just a normal boy from Liverpool who achieved his dream" to "Goodbye, rat" in Spanish. This is the third time Arnold's mural in his hometown has been deliberately vandalized, with the first incident being by Everton fans before the 2022 derby. Alexander-Arnold (27 years old) warmed up in front of the Liverpool stands, trying to ignore the whistles.
