Bani Yas keeper reveals keys to Sharjah win

Fahad Az-Znahani, goalkeeper of Bani Yas, revealed the work methods adopted by Romanian coach Daniel Isaila and the club's management last week, which contributed to the team achieving its first win of the season in the ADNOC Pro League, with a big away victory over Sharjah (4-1) in the eighth round.

The win was a reflection of the hard work and great effort made in the recent period, our ability to unite and overcome the difficult start to the season, and our belief that we have the qualities to please the club's fans and get back on the right track.

Az-Znahani explained: "We failed to translate the team's true potential at the beginning of the season, despite putting in a good performance in some matches where luck was not on our side."

He described this win as "an important step" on the way back to the right path.

Az-Znahani told "Al-Ittihad": "The team benefited from the recent break, which gave the coach a chance to regroup, along with the continuous support and follow-up from the club's management, by working on both the psychological and physical aspects of the players throughout last week."

He added: "Sharjah played a great match, but the fighting spirit shown by Bani Yas players was the main factor in achieving this result."

Regarding the big 4-1 win, Az-Znahani said: "We entered the match with high confidence that we could win, but the victory by this score exceeded our expectations and reflected the clear determination of everyone to regain confidence."

He stressed: "We must now build on this win and use the current break to continue sorting things out before our important match against Khorfakkan next December. But the improvement was clear since the last round, as coach Isaila and the club's management, which held several meetings with us, worked on strengthening the psychological side, motivating the players, and unleashing their energies, emphasizing that we lack nothing to translate this effort on the field."
