The organizing committee for the upcoming 'Desert Destiny' bout, which will feature Emirati boxer Issa Dha and former British champion Kell Brook, held a promotional conference yesterday in the British capital London, coinciding with the UAE's 54th National Day. The meeting was attended by prominent sports figures, including Secretary-General of the Dubai Sports Council Saeed Hareb, member of the UAE Football Association's board of directors Hisham Al Zarooni, as well as promoter Martin Gravesock, founder of the Ricky Hatton Charitable Foundation, and the boxers Issa Dha, Kell Brook, and Kim Perreira. The fight will take place on February 13 at The Agenda hall in Dubai Media City, with the support of the Dubai Sports Council. The proceeds from the evening will go to a charitable foundation named after the legendary late British boxer Ricky Hatton. Saeed Hareb confirmed during the promotional conference that Dubai is committed to supporting combat sports and hosting major global events, noting that the emirate is working to enhance its status as an international sports center by developing infrastructure and launching initiatives that enable athletes to compete at regional and international levels. Martin Gravesock, in turn, stated that the fight being sanctioned by the World Boxing Council reflects the trust of international federations in Dubai's ability to organize world-class championships. It also honors the legacy of the late Ricky Hatton by supporting initiatives for athletes' mental health. Issa Dha, the first professional boxer in UAE history, nicknamed 'The Arab Warrior', expressed his enthusiasm for the bout, confirming that his focus is on delivering a performance that will raise the UAE's flag in one of the most significant fights of his career.
