Caio Canido responds to analyst's criticism

Player of Al Wahda club Caio Canido sharply criticized sports analyst Salem Johar in response to his statements in the "Sports Talk" program on Ajman channel. Salem Johar expressed his surprise at Caio's call-up to the national team in the past period, saying: "I don't know the reason that makes Caio Canido play in the best clubs in the UAE and be called up to the national team." In turn, Caio replied to a post on Instagram addressing Salem Johar's statements: "I respect all players and former legends, but in Brazil I only played for first division clubs, scoring goals and winning titles." He continued: "In the UAE, I played for Al Wasl and Al Ain, and now for Al Wahda. I scored more than 100 goals for Al Wasl, more than 50 for Al Ain, and more than 100 in the Professional League, which made me one of the top six scorers in the tournament's history." He added: "You attack me on TV without any reason, even though I have done nothing to you, but when you meet me in person, you ask for a photo with me. I am currently not in the national team and am having a great season with Al Wahda, yet you continue to mention my name. I wish you well and pray that God removes hatred from your heart, and I will pray for you." Caio also said: "Note: I called you captain because I don't know your name."

Earlier, Caio Canido expressed great disappointment at not being selected for the national team, which is currently participating in the Arab Cup, emphasizing that coach Olariu Cosmin's decision was unexpected for him, while at the same time he expressed respect for the "Al Abda" coach's decision and support for the team in the tournament. Caio told Al Ittihad newspaper: "I had hoped to go to Qatar for the Arab Cup, but I respect the coach's decision." He added: "I am over 50 years old, I am 54 now, and if I train for a month, I will become better than Caio."
