In his own podcast, Rooney said: "Mohamed Salah is damaging his legacy at Liverpool. It would be a shame if he ruins everything." He also called on Liverpool manager Arne Slot to take a decisive stance, advising Salah to go to the Africa Cup of Nations and let things calm down. "If I were Slot, he wouldn't be in the team. The manager has to show authority and tell him: you're not traveling with the team," Rooney added. These remarks come after reports suggested that Liverpool currently has no plans to part ways with Salah, and his exclusion from the squad against Inter Milan in the Champions League was a natural reaction to his recent comments.
