The UAE team won the World Outdoor Badminton Championships (Team Relay), defeating the Chinese team 60-54 in the final match the day before yesterday on Khorfakkan Beach, in front of a large crowd.
The champions were honored by Sheikh Saied bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Chairman of the Office of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah in Khorfakkan.
During the championship, Brazil was crowned champion in the men's team event, while China won the women's team event. Egypt and Brazil secured the bronze medals in the team relay event.
In the men's team event, Hong Kong finished second, with the UAE and Egypt teams tying for third. In the women's team event, Bulgaria took second place, while Hong Kong and Indonesia secured third.
The championship concluded with a ceremony honoring the sponsoring and supporting entities and the organizing committees in appreciation of their efforts in making this global event a success, which featured 96 players representing 12 countries from various continents.
