Mohammed Al Marri, Director of the Sports Affairs Department at the Dubai International Marine Sports Club, confirmed that the Al Maktoum Cup for local boats is an eagerly anticipated annual event that brings together the elite of boats and competitors. Its prestige comes from its history as it approaches three decades of competitive racing, during which it has presented the strongest competitions in the sport of traditional boat rowing, painting beautiful pictures on the waterways of Dubai, making it a festival that brings together lovers of rowing in a magnificent gathering on all fronts. Al Marri congratulated the boats that qualified for the Al Maktoum Cup and expressed his confidence that the coxswains and sailors will continue to adhere to the specified instructions to ensure everyone's safety and the transparent conduct of competitions to ensure equality among all boats under all competition conditions. The Dubai International Marine Sports Club announced the list of 30 boats that have qualified for the 29th Al Maktoum Cup, the major tournament this season for local boats, scheduled for next Saturday at 'Dubai Healthcare City Phase 2 Waterfront' in the Dubai Rowing area. The club's approval of the list was based on the results achieved in the Local Boats 30 feet category in the first two rounds of the Dubai Local Boat Races, where 20 boats qualified for the local category. The boat 'Julfar', owned by His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, a member of the Federal Supreme Council and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, and coxed by Badar Nasser Al Shahehi and sponsored by Spark Group, topped the rankings with 60 points after winning first place in both rounds.
