Miral: I'm not in a position to talk about Al-Wasl transfers

Al-Wasl's head coach Massoud Miral commented on the loss to Al-Ahli Youth, stating he is focused on working with the current squad rather than searching for new players in the winter transfer window. He also congratulated the rival on the win.

Miral: I'm not in a position to talk about Al-Wasl transfers

The coach of Al-Wasl, Swede Massoud Miral, stated that he is not in a position to talk about the team's needs for new signings in the winter transfer market, following the 'Emperor's' 1-3 loss to host Al-Ahli Youth on Sunday in a postponed match from the ninth round of the ADNOC Pro League. Miral told 'Emirates Today' in response to questions about Al-Wasl's needs during the winter transfer window: 'Ever since I took over as coach of Al-Wasl, my focus has been on training the squad the team has, not on choosing new players to sign.' He explained: 'Our team has a distinguished group of players, and I am not in a suitable position to talk about what Al-Wasl needs on the winter transfer front. Throughout my previous coaching career, my focus has been on working with the existing group, not on choosing new players, and any new player who joins the team will be welcomed.' He added: 'I congratulate Al-Ahli Youth on the win. We played a good first half and managed to score a goal, but small details in the second half allowed Al-Ahli Youth to score two goals.' Regarding his future with Al-Wasl, Miral said: 'All I am thinking about now is working on the aspects that need development during training sessions and improving the team's performance, which will have a positive impact on the results in the remaining stages of the current season.' It is worth noting that the management of Al-Wasl Club turned to Swedish coach Massoud Miral on a temporary basis last November, replacing Portuguese coach Luis Castro. Miral had previously worked as an assistant coach two seasons ago with Serbian coach Milos in Al-Wasl Club, winning a league and cup double with him, before moving to coach Iraqi club Duhok and winning the Gulf Cup with them. He was later appointed as the sporting director of Khorfakkan Club.
