A 14-member UAE cycling delegation arrived in Saudi Arabia to prepare for the 2026 Asian Road Championship. The team includes experienced athletes and young talents across various age categories.


UAE Cycling Team Departs for Asian Championship

The UAE cycling team delegation departed yesterday to the Qassim region in Saudi Arabia with a 14-member delegation, in preparation for participating in the 2026 Asian Road Championship, held from the 5th to the 13th of this month, amidst high ambitions to present a strong performance that reflects the remarkable development of UAE cycling on the continental scene. According to the Cycling Federation, the elite men's category includes: Ahmed Al Mansoori, Mohamed Al Mutaywi, and Abdullah Al Hamadi, a group that the technical staff relies on for its experience and ability to compete in long races. In the elite women's category, Safia Al Saig continues her external appearances, representing the UAE in one of the most important continental events of this season. In the under-23 category, the delegation includes the trio Yousuf Abdullah Al Amiri, Khamis Harab Al Marzouki, and Sultan Jamal Al Sarbaz, as well as in the youth category, Abdullah Ibrahim Al Hashimi, Saif Mohammed Al Ghaithi, and Sultan Saud Al Hamadi, in a step aimed at giving emerging talents greater opportunities for international exposure. In the Masters category, the UAE is represented by Jamal Al Falasi, Marwan Al Balushi, and Hamid Mahlab Al Sabbagh, along with the participation of Moza Salem Al Mansoori in the women's Masters category, confirming the breadth of participants and the diversity of categories the team is participating in this year. The delegation is led by the administrative and technical staff, including Mohammed bin Shuafei, Director of National Teams, coach Obaid Ahmed Al Murri, coach Bader Ali Al Sani, in addition to mechanic Sajid and massage specialist John Paul.
