Horse racing enthusiasts are heading to the Jebel Ali racecourse today for the final gala, featuring seven races sponsored by national institutions with a total prize purse of 576,000 dirhams. 105 of the best local and international horses will compete for the titles. The gala kicks off with the opening race for purebred Arabian horses in the 'Beginner' category for four-year-olds, running 1200 meters on sand for the 'Porsche Cup' with a total prize of 50,000 dirhams. The excitement continues into the fifth and main race, the 'Kienland Cup', for Thoroughbred horses in the 'Handicap' category for three-year-olds and older, with a prize purse of 120,000 dirhams. 12 top horses will compete for the title over a mile (1600 meters on sand). The highest-rated horse, 'Hypnos', under trainer Hamad Al Jahani, is a standout. This four-year-old is making his first appearance at Jebel Ali after three strong performances this season at the Meydan track, where he never finished outside the top three. Also in the running is 'Zandvoort', owned by Abubakr Kadoura and trained by Bubat Simar, who is aiming for his second consecutive win at Jebel Ali after his victory last week in the 'Jebel Ali Classic' over a shorter 1400-meter distance.
