Al-Wasl player Sofiane Bouftini stated that his team achieved a victory over Al-Dhafra both in performance and result, after winning 3-0 yesterday at Zaabel Stadium, as part of the 20th round of the Professional League for football. Bouftini said in press statements after the match, which was attended by about 1,000 spectators: «We were at the peak of focus before the match, and we entered the match with a clear goal, which was to win, especially after our losses against Bani Yas and Al-Ain, and our draw with Al-Ahli, so the victory was the most important for us». He added: «We held a meeting before the match between the players and the technical staff, and we agreed on the necessity of winning regardless of the performance, because the most important thing is to win the three points, and we are currently competing for third place with Al-Jazira and Al-Wahda, so we treat every match as a final». It is worth noting that the victory raised Al-Wasl's balance to 33 points in fifth place, while Al-Dhafra's balance froze at 18 points, making its situation more difficult in the battle to stay.
