Guardiola says he is 'annoyed' with Silva over his future silence

Pep Guardiola, manager of Manchester City, has expressed that he is 'annoyed' with his Portuguese player Bernardo Silva, admitting he knows nothing about the future of the team's captain. Silva, in the final year of his contract with the ten-time English champions, is at the center of strong speculation about his future. City's assistant coach, Pep Linders, recently seemed to confirm the possible departure of the 31-year-old during a media briefing after the team's big win over Liverpool in the FA Cup last week. However, Guardiola, speaking to reporters before the Premier League match against Chelsea on Sunday, confirmed he is not privy to Silva's plans. 'I am very annoyed with Bernardo because I told him a month ago: if you make a decision, I have to be the first to know. He hasn't told me anything, so I think the right person to talk to is Bernardo... he hasn't informed me, so I don't know what is going on,' the Catalan coach was quoted as saying by AFP. Silva, who joined City from Monaco in 2017, has played 450 matches for the club, winning six domestic league titles and the Champions League. Guardiola added that he would be 'very happy' if Silva stays and ends his career at the club. 'I don't know. We dropped points that we should have taken,' he concluded.
