Liverpool, defending their title, advanced to the quarter-finals of the English Football League Cup, overcoming Brighton with a score of 3-2 on aggregate.
"We made a significant step for us, so I’m satisfied with the result," said manager Jurgen Klopp.
Liverpool took the lead in the match twice through goals from Diogo Jota, who scored a double, and Curtis Jones. Brighton managed to respond twice, however, this was not enough to influence the outcome of the meeting.
Liverpool aims to continue their path to defend the title in the tournament, in which they are performing successfully.
