The United Arab Emirates has announced the organization of three major international tennis tournaments with a total prize money of $200,000. The tournaments are organized with the support of the government of Fujairah in cooperation with the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP). This was announced at a press conference held yesterday at the Fujairah Tennis Club. The event was attended by the Chairman of the Club's Board of Directors, Abdul Ghafur Behzroian, a member of the Board of Directors of the UAE Tennis and Padel Federation, Omar Sharif Al Marzouqi, the Club's Director, Hanan Rikky, as well as the Chief Referee, Lucy Adamovska, and the ATP Tournament Chief Referee, Jerry Adamovska. The women's tournament will be held from January 26 to 31 with a prize fund of $100,000 and the participation of the world's top tennis players. The second tournament will take place on March 2, and the third on March 9, with each having a prize fund of $50,000. Behzroian described hosting these high-ranking international tournaments as one of the fruits of the qualitative leap that the Fujairah Tennis Club is witnessing, confirming that the sustainability of cooperation with the UAE Tennis and Padel Federation will lead to further qualitative successes. He pointed out that every tournament held in Fujairah is a distinctive developmental, community, and competitive project that contributes to supporting players of the United Arab Emirates, both citizens and residents, and provides an important opportunity to support the national teams. In turn, Al Marzouqi confirmed that the success of the Fujairah Tennis Club in attracting and organizing international tournaments reflects its distinguished position at both local and international levels, indicating that the Board of Directors of the Federation, headed by Sheikh Saeed bin Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, is keen to support tournaments organized in the state at various levels.
