
Within the framework of its annual event, attended by more than 600 graduates and alumni from around the world, the American University in Sharjah organized a special evening with the support of the Office of Alumni Affairs under the slogan "Planting goodness for others: Inspiring future generations through education" on January 18.
Sheikha Budour bint Sultan al-Qasimi, President of the university, opened the event, where she emphasized the key role of alumni in shaping the future of the university. In her address, she noted that graduates of the university in Sharjah are the leaders of the future, the driving force of educational transformation.
The evening featured a rich program of events and speeches that highlighted the talents and leadership qualities of alumni, as well as the spirit of solidarity among them. One of the highlights was a round table focused on successful alumni, including Muzah al-Abbar, founder of "Anazir Group" and "Al-Abbar Projects", Iman al-Audi, head of the Expo Dubai cybersecurity network, and Fatima Tusukra Shabir Tabiya, partner and entrepreneur at Star Furniture, a family business that has been operating in the UAE for over 50 years.
The evening included a captivating performance from the renowned Emirati artist Hussain al-Jasimi and a delightful musical performance by graduate Dana al-Fardani, who captivated the audience with her unique talent. The event also provided an excellent opportunity for networking among alumni, professional organizations, and social connections, as well as for holding sessions aimed at establishing professional communities and sharing experiences. Furthermore, the special alumni club of the university will conduct specialized meetings for ongoing discussions on professional topics and internal university support.
