The world-renowned luxury handmade rug brand Jaipur Rugs has announced a collaboration with Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, the founder and CEO of the 'Kalemat Group' and a UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for education and culture. The collaboration has resulted in the 'Whispers of the Desert' collection, inspired by her vision. The collection will be unveiled for the first time at the second edition of the 'Tanweer' festival, which kicks off today in the Mleiha desert, in celebration of the region's cultural, natural, and heritage legacy.
The 'Whispers of the Desert' collection is a meditative journey through the timeless natural landscape of the Mleiha desert and the historic Al-Faya site. Each rug in the collection serves as a living archive, documenting the sound of the wind through the oases and rock formations, alongside the poetic beauty of caves, forts, and ruined palaces that tell the story of the human experience spanning thousands of years.
Beyond its design aesthetics, the rugs are vessels of memory.
