The second edition of the 'Tanweer' festival kicked off two days ago in the Mleiha desert in Sharjah. The festival, under the theme 'What you seek is seeking you,' inspired by the wisdom of Rumi, offers a chance to discover moments of serenity, presence, and renewal. It hosts guests from around the world for starlit concerts and inspiring artistic experiences across four performance zones. At the opening ceremony, held at the UNESCO World Heritage site of Al Faya, the vision of 'Tanweer' was affirmed: to bring global talents together around the values of heritage, cultural memory, and collective creativity. Founder Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi stated, 'We gather in Mleiha to pause, connect, and find tranquility away from the world's hustle. My hope is that Tanweer grants each of us a moment of peace, presence, and renewal.' The festival features over 28 performances by more than 183 artists from 23 countries across four stages: Main Stage, Tree of Life, The Dome, and The Souk. The program also includes nine knowledge-rich workshops led by international specialists, 11 immersive art installations that transform the desert into a living gallery for contemplation and creativity, and nine interactive activities like stargazing, desert exploration, and guided archaeological tours that deepen the connection to the land's history.
