Issue 79 of the monthly magazine 'Al-Hayra from Sharjah', published by the Sharjah Department of Culture, has been released. The magazine is dedicated to poetry and folk literature. In this issue, the 'On the Table' section features a piece on poetic disputes and competitions as an authentic poetic art. The 'Ink of Pioneers' section profiles the life and work of the late Emirati poet Sultan bin Waqish al-Zahiri. Meanwhile, the 'Flowers of the Years' section presents poems that document prominent landmarks and names in the Arabian Peninsula. The issue also continues in the 'Windows to the Self' section with a reading of the experience of Omani poet Saleh al-Sindi.
